Weekend in the North-Sunday

On Sunday, March 15, we traveled to Louisville, KY to meet Van and Christa. We had arranged to meet at Freedom Hall for Cirque Soliel. It was a great show and we were well entertained. After the show, Van and Christa took us on a tour of the city. Van showed us where he worked. He is the director of the St. Ann facility. It's a halfway house for release of prisoners. There are 5 facilities in the Louisville area. He then showed us Churchill Downs where the Kentucky Derby is run. Then onto a walking tour. We walked by the home of the Louisville Slugger. It's a factory that makes baseball bats. We also visited an art museum. Brenda, Christa and I are cozying up to one of the many penguins. Also, one of the many art pieces is posted. Then outside was a car covered in red beads. The car in front of it was covered in mirrors. double click on the pictures to enlarge them. I know someone must have thought of using Mardi Gras beads to cover a car. Hey Jude, ask Andrew if we could cover his car in Mardi Gras beads. After our tour of Louisville, we ate at TGIFriday's in downtown Louisville. There was a huge St. Patrick's Day celebration there. The picture with all of us is at TGIFridays. The last picture is Christa and Van opening their Cajun gift bag. Next time, I won't forget the boudin and crawfish. This time cracklins and pralines, etc had to suffice. The northern Theriots were excellent hosts and we enjoyed our visit immensely.
