Its such a wonderful feeling staying in touch with the Theriots. I would like to start a new segment of our blog. Learning more about our family and their lives. This link is where our cousin, Van, works in northern Kentucky. He was kind about being my first. Yes, I will be asking all to participate. The picture was from the Christmas pictures on the link. Click on the above link to learn more about the business that he works for.
Here is what he does.
We do Community Corrections across the nation, we are the largest non-profit provider of these services. We take federal and KY state inmates when they are getting close to getting out and provide them an opportunity to learn job skills, get education and rehabilitation and acclimated to being in the community prior to release.
In Kentucky our clients are assigned to supervised work crews, without pay, to learn job ethics and their work provides 100s of thousands dollars of in-kind benefits to the community while saving the Department of Corrections money.
I am the director of the St. Ann facility and have oversight on 2 others, the Diersen and St. Patrick). As with any non-profit organization, I have many other hats. I am the expert on Physical Plants, renovating buildings to make them security facilities, maintain the agency information database and write manuals. so it does keep me busy.
