After 34 years of teaching in various schools of St. Martin parish, Johnell is calling it quits. She will now join the ranks of the retired. She plans to read and travel with Howard.
On May 20th, she walked into a surprise retirement party hosted by her immediate family along with nieces Nan and Brenda. A long time friend, Bobbie Theriot, brought her to Landry's for lunch, but little did she know she would be walking into a huge crowd of people. All were there to celebrate her many years of teaching. Friends, family and colleagues brought gifts, laughter and stories to share. Good food was provided by Landry's and of course the family contributed their sweets.
